The Yemeni Ansar Allah (Houthis) group said on Monday that it had attacked three ships in the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, and that it had targeted two American destroyers in the Red Sea, using missiles and drones.
The group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in a televised statement that it targeted the American ship Larigo Desert and the Israeli ship Michela in the Indian Ocean, noting that the third operation targeted “the ship Minerva Lisa in the Red Sea, for violating the decision to ban entry to the ports of occupied Palestine.”
Saree also pointed out that their drone forces targeted two “qualitative” American war destroyers in the Red Sea, “and the operations successfully achieved their goals.”
He stressed that their armed forces are continuing their operations “in victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people, stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip.”
There has been no confirmation yet from shipping companies or the US military about attacks in those two areas.

The Houthi attacks began in the Red Sea last November, and the group says that it targets Israeli ships linked to Israel or those heading to it, and thus to support the Palestinian people in Gaza.
On May 3, the group announced the start of a fourth phase of its attacks, which began in October by targeting sites in southern Israel with missiles and drones, then moved to the second phase last November by targeting ships affiliated with or linked to Israel.
The third stage was the targeting of American and British ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea since the beginning of the year, as a US-led coalition launched raids that it said targeted Houthi sites in Yemen, in response to its naval attacks, which was met with a response from the group from time to time.
Since October 7, Israel has continued its aggression against Gaza despite the huge number of civilian casualties, martyrs and wounded, and despite the request of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to issue international arrest warrants against its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and its Defense Minister Yoav Galant, for their responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel also ignores a resolution from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire, and orders from the International Court of Justice to take immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide, improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and stop military operations in Rafah, south of the Strip.
