The Israeli occupation army admitted the largest daily toll of casualties since the start of its war on Gaza, as the Palestinian resistance confronts its forces on 3 fronts, announcing the implementation of a series of operations and ambushes and targeting about 8 tanks, in addition to firing missiles at Ashkelon and Sderot.

The Israeli army said – today, Sunday – that 50 of its officers and soldiers were injured during the battles in the Gaza Strip in one day, which brings the announced number of its wounded since the beginning of the war to 3,415 wounded, including 526 who were seriously injured.

Earlier, Israeli media said that Brigadier General Yogav Bar Shesht, deputy superintendent of the Israeli security system, was wounded in battles in the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City the day before yesterday, Friday.

The Times of Israel newspaper indicated that Sheshet is the highest-ranking officer in the Israeli army to be injured during the fighting in Gaza, and he was transferred to Ichilov Hospital for treatment.

Israeli reports said he was with the advance command team of the Nahal Infantry Brigade commander in the Zaytoun neighborhood.

3 fronts

The occupation army is currently carrying out operations in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and in the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Rafah in the south, under cover of intense bombardment, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of Palestinians and the displacement of many families.

The Israeli army spokesman said – in a statement – that the forces of the 98th Division began a military operation last night in Jabalia following “intelligence information about Hamas restoring its infrastructure in the region.”

He added that the Israeli Air Force attacked about 30 targets before entering Jabaliya.

The spokesman also stated that forces from the Givati Brigade found a number of tunnel openings and missile launchers ready for use in the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced the implementation of a series of operations and ambushes against the occupation forces since this morning, and also bombed Ashkelon and Sderot with batches of missiles.

Al-Qassam targeted at least 8 Israeli tanks, causing some of them to catch fire and killing the soldiers in them, according to what it announced via Telegram.

Al-Qassam broadcast a video recording of the targeting of a Merkava tank, where an anti-armor shell was dropped by a drone on the tank east of Jabalia camp.

Today, the resistance published scenes of several operations, including mortar shelling and targeting of tanks.

Compound process

Al-Qassam announced the implementation of a complex operation near the Al-Mabhouh site, east of the Jabalia camp, where it targeted a Merkava tank with an Al-Yassin 105 shell, and after “the enemy soldiers present in the place fled to a booby-trapped house prepared in advance, it was detonated and the force killed and wounded.”

In another complex operation, resistance fighters detonated a thunderbolt with special Israeli force, and targeted a troop carrier with a “Tandum” shell east of Jabalia, resulting in the force killing and wounding, according to what Al-Qassam announced.

Al-Qassam also said that it targeted an Israeli special force holed up in a house near the Mazaya Hall, east of Jabalia Camp, with two TPG shells, which led to the force’s members being killed and wounded.

A leading source in Al-Qassam told Tel Aviv Tribune that last Friday, its members detonated a thunder bomb and clashed with an Israeli force in the Zaytoun neighborhood.

The source confirmed the killing and wounding of soldiers. The enemy admitted 4 were killed and 2 others were wounded, noting that after the Qassam members withdrew from the first ambush, they clashed with another force and killed and wounded its members.

The Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – and the Al-Qassam Brigades participated in carrying out heavy-caliber mortar shelling on concentrations of occupation forces in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.

Al-Qassam also announced that it bombed the city of Ashkelon – this afternoon – with a batch of missiles from the area of the occupation army’s incursion east of Jabalia.

It also bombed the Sderot settlement with a missile barrage in response to the massacres against civilians, according to what it announced via Telegram.

Rafah battles

In the south of the Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades said that they targeted occupation soldiers and vehicles penetrating into the Rafah land crossing with mortar shells in two separate batches.

The Al-Quds Brigades also announced that they bombed the occupation soldiers and vehicles in the Al-Shoka neighborhood, east of Rafah, with a barrage of heavy-caliber mortar shells.

Meanwhile, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the occupation army was blowing up buildings east of the city of Rafah.

About a week ago, the occupation army began the attack on the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Rafah, a few hours after the Hamas movement announced its approval of the mediators’ proposal for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange.

Israeli forces occupied the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, halting the movement of humanitarian aid trucks and the evacuation of wounded and sick Palestinians.

Today’s successive field developments come despite the passage of more than 7 months since the Israeli war, which UN and human rights experts described as a war of genocide, in which tens of thousands of Palestinians were martyred and injured, most of them children and women, and nearly 70% of the civilian infrastructure, including homes, schools, and hospitals, was destroyed.
