The one-year-old girl, Salma, participated with her mother, Lara Kiswani, in the activities of the World Conference against Israeli Apartheid in Palestine, which is being hosted by the city of Johannesburg in South Africa during the period from 10 to 12 May this year.
Lara Kiswani said – to Tel Aviv Tribune Net – when the Israeli aggression against Gaza began last October, my daughter Salma was 5 months old, and I found myself in the midst of very difficult circumstances for us Palestinians in America and all Arab communities, and at the same time with me a daughter who needs care and education, I organize events and activities that support our cause.
Therefore, I carried her with me to every conference, every demonstration, and every meeting, and when I attended the South African Conference against Apartheid, she came with me so that she could tell in the future that she was here as a witness to their solidarity with the Palestinian cause, and she would remember all of that in the future as she celebrated obtaining all her rights, the most important of which was the right of return. .
Lara Kiswani works as director of the Arab Resource and Organization Center, a non-profit organization based in San Francisco in the United States. It provides services to the Arab community in America, such as teaching the Arabic language and cultural training, and is active in combating oppression and calling for an end to wars and conflicts.
