European Parliament President Roberta Metsola visits Kyiv to mark Europe Day.
On May 9, Europe Day, the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola visited Kyiv to meet Volodymyr Zelensky.
She reaffirmed the EU’s unwavering support during the International Summit of Cities and Regions organized in the Ukrainian capital this Thursday.
“The European Union and the European Parliament are ready to help. We will come out of this together because Ukraine is Europe and Europe is Ukraine, and this is our partnership for victory. Glory to the ‘Ukraine!’ she declared.
She also recalled her promise to make Ukraine a full member of the EU.
The Ukrainian president, for his part, recalled that war is on the EU’s doorstep, and added that support for Ukraine is essential to ensure that “the very idea of any war in Europe is once again beaten.”_
Later that day, Roberta Metsola gave a speech in the Rada, Ukraine’s parliament.
