The Dutch pay tribute this Sunday to the victims of armed conflicts since the start of the Second World War. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima laid a wreath and observed two minutes of silence at the National Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam. According to the National Committee, 2900 people participated in the event, in addition to the 1500 guests.

Closely monitored commemorations. The authorities particularly feared excesses linked to demonstrations denouncing the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. But no disturbance ultimately took place, according to the police.
