The United States has become the latest country to drop humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Faced with growing fears of famine in the besieged Palestinian territory, the US Air Force parachuted more than 30,000 meals.
But some humanitarian agencies say military airlifts are not the solution.
Instead, they want Israel to open more border crossings to allow aid trucks to enter.
Israel is accused of limiting aid deliveries – despite warnings that people were starving.
The limited amount of aid provided is far from enough for Gaza’s 2.3 million Palestinian residents.
Compounding the crisis, Israel’s constant military bombardment makes aid distribution difficult and dangerous.
So how effective are airdrops?
