99 American doctors who served in Gaza call on Biden to stop arming Israel news

99 American doctors who worked voluntarily in Gaza called on President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris to immediately cut off military support for Israel and stop arming a country that “deliberately kills children en masse.”

The doctors explained – in their joint letter to Biden and Harris – that they are a multi-religious and multi-ethnic group, and said that while providing voluntary health services in Gaza, they witnessed the death of infants who died as a result of Israeli attacks and obstacles, epidemics, and crimes against human rights.

They stated in the letter that the number of people who have lost their lives in Gaza since October 7, 2023 is much higher than what is known, noting that “the number is likely to be more than 118,908, which is equivalent to 5.4% of the population of Gaza.”

The American doctors added, “Our government must take immediate measures to prevent a catastrophe worse than what happened to the people of Gaza and Israel,” stressing “the necessity of achieving a ceasefire by cutting off military support for Israel, and imposing an international arms embargo on it and all armed Palestinian factions.”

In the letter – which the volunteer doctors posted online – they expressed their desire to share with Biden and Harris “pictorial evidence of life-threatening malnutrition, especially among children, in Gaza.”

“We have seen malnourished mothers in Gaza serving food made from contaminated water to their underweight children,” these doctors said in their letter. “We can never forget that the world has abandoned these innocent women and children.”

They stressed that it is “shocking” that Israel is also issuing repeated and continuous evacuation orders to Gazans suffering from malnutrition to areas where there is not even running water or bathrooms.

“Gaza was the place where I held a child’s brain in my hands for the first time in my life,” said orthopedic surgeon Mark Perlmutter, one of the volunteer doctors who signed the letter.

Perlmutter stressed that it was “impossible that young children would be accidentally or unintentionally shot” by Israeli soldiers during a year in Gaza.

They continued in the letter, “We hope that you will hear the cries and cries that our conscience will not allow us to forget. We cannot understand why you continue to arm a state (Israel) that deliberately kills these children en masse.”

The doctors – who spent months in the largest hospitals and clinics in Gaza – also confirmed that they did not see “any Palestinian armed activity” in hospitals or other health care facilities in Gaza that were targeted and destroyed by the Israeli bombing.

The American doctors concluded their message by saying, “Every day that we continue to supply weapons and ammunition to Israel remains a day in which women are torn apart by our bombs, and children are killed by our bullets. President Biden and Vice President (Harris) we ask you: Stop this madness immediately.”

Israel, with American support, has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in more than 138,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing persons, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of dozens of children, in one of the worst… Humanitarian disasters that the world has witnessed.
