7 new deaths due to starvation in Gaza and malnutrition threatening hundreds of thousands news

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today, Wednesday, that hospitals recorded 7 new deaths within 24 hours due to the Israeli starvation policy and malnutrition, at a time when warnings are increasing of the increasing number of victims in the event that the crisis is not addressed immediately.

The ministry said – through the application of Telegram – that the new deaths raise the number of famine victims to 154, including 89 children.

She added that all “miserable attempts to deny the fact of famine are nurtured by the numbers of expatriates to the emergency departments and the numbers of deaths that we have always warned of their occurrence.”

In the context, the director of Al -Shifa Hospital in Gaza said that 20,000 children in the sector are in danger after entering an advanced stage of malnutrition.

In the past few days, deaths have increased from malnutrition, and children’s bodies have turned into skeletons.

Fainting cases of many invaders have also increased with the excessive hunger in light of the scarcity of food.

The observatory emphasized that there is evidence that the spread of hunger, malnutrition and diseases lead to the high deaths related to hunger and malnutrition.

Time runs out

Meanwhile, the World Food Program said that the numbers confirm that Gaza is facing a danger due to the hunger crisis, and that time is running out to launch a comprehensive humanitarian response.

The UN program added – in a statement – that one out of every 3 people in Gaza spends days without food, and that 75% face emergency levels of hunger.

The statement indicated that about 25% of the sector’s population suffers from famine -like conditions.

For its part, the Action Against Hunger said that famine in the Gaza Strip is increasing, and that about 20,000 children were transferred to hospitals from acute malnutrition.

The organization added that 300,000 children under the age of five, and 150 thousand pregnant and breastfeeding women are in urgent need of therapeutic supplements, but the basic products for the treatment of malnutrition, such as therapeutic foods, supplements for infants and the microscopic elements of pregnant women, are very rare.

In the same context, the Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) said that children are waiting for long lines in the sun, and that the crisis is exacerbated, while the world is silently watching.

UNRWA added that obtaining clean water in Gaza is still a daily challenge.

In the past few days, deaths in the Gaza Strip have increased due to malnutrition in light of the restrictions imposed by Israel on the entry of aid, amid warnings of a “great murderer”, especially among children.
