Seven submarines from NATO member countries, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the United States, are participating this year in maneuvers called “Dynamic Manta 24” off the coast of Sicily. This is the Alliance’s largest anti-submarine warfare exercise.

This exercise involves chase and evasion maneuvers, thereby improving crew preparedness against underwater threats.

The exercise, organized by the Italian Navy, includes support from maritime patrol aircraft and surface ships, strengthening NATO’s capabilities in the Mediterranean.
