65 settlement plans in Jerusalem since October 7 | news


A Palestinian government report, issued today, Sunday, said that the competent Israeli authorities have studied 65 settlement plans in the occupied city of Jerusalem, since the start of the aggression against Gaza a year ago.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said in a report, a copy of which was received by Tel Aviv Tribune Net, that the planning authorities in the occupying state have studied a total of 65 settlement structural plans in the city of Jerusalem since October 7, 2023, including 25 plans outside the borders of the occupation municipality in the city and 65 plans within its borders.

The Commission indicated that the total number of structural plans that were subjected to study throughout the West Bank, including Jerusalem, during the year of the war amounted to 182 structural plans “for the purpose of building a total of 23,267 colonial units on an area of ​​14 thousand dunums (a dunum equals one thousand square metres), which were approved.” 6,300 units of it.

On the other hand, the Commission indicated that out of 16,663 attacks by settlers and the occupation army in the West Bank during the same period, Jerusalem’s share was 2,771 attacks.

In turn, the Wadi Hilweh Human Rights Information Center said on Sunday that settlers had stolen olives from Palestinian fields in the Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood in the town of Silwan, adding that they had “completely looted the fruits of olive trees on an area of ​​159 dunums.”

He added that the settlers “assaulted the Jerusalemite citizen Shadi Somerin in Wadi Al-Rababa before looting fruits belonging to Jerusalemite citizens.”
