The Palestinian Football Association announced that the number of athletes and scouts martyred as a result of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip had risen to 644 martyrs.

The Federation explained, in a post on its official Facebook page, that among the martyrs were 359 players, administrators and football workers, and the martyrs were: 91 children and 268 youth.

There were also 89 martyrs from Al-Haramah Scouting and 196 from other sports federations.

The publication indicated that there were 24 people in football who were arrested in the West Bank, and no arrest of any athlete was recorded in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation destroyed 278 sports facilities (265 in the Gaza Strip and 13 in the West Bank).

The Palestinian Federation concluded its post by emphasizing that “the number is not final in light of the missing people and the lack of sources.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 152,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world. .

About two million displaced people out of a population of 2.2 million in the Gaza Strip live in very difficult humanitarian conditions in light of the severe shortage of basic life necessities, water supplies and food.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
