The official Israeli army website said that 431 officers and soldiers have been injured since the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip on October 2, 2017, and are still receiving treatment in hospitals. Among them, 44 are in serious condition, 258 are in moderate condition, and the rest are in minor condition.
The website indicated that 936 officers and soldiers were injured since the start of the ground operation, and that 2,180 officers and soldiers were injured since the seventh of last October, including 344 serious cases, 606 moderate cases, while the rest were in minor cases.
According to the army, 168 officers and soldiers were killed in Gaza since the start of the ground operation, while the total number of deaths since October 7 reached 502 officers and soldiers.
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions surprised Israel on October 7 with a large-scale attack on the settlements surrounding Gaza, killing about 1,200 Israelis and capturing dozens.
The ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, until Saturday, left 21,672 martyrs and 56,165 injured, most of them children and women, massive infrastructure destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to the Strip authorities and the United Nations.
