20 international aid agencies and human rights organizations have warned that the new crossing points and “floating port” in Gaza amount to “cosmetic” changes.

The ability of aid groups and medical teams to respond has “now collapsed,” with repairs to the floating port and new crossing points having “little impact,” agencies and organizations said.

The organizations spoke of a “mirage” of improving humanitarian conditions in Gaza under the current circumstances, and said that the humanitarian response is in fact “on the verge of collapse.”

Amnesty International – one of the signatory organizations – said that relief agencies “have repeatedly warned that any attempts to deliver aid to Gaza by air and sea – which remain ineffective, expensive, and even dangerous – cannot replace land crossings.” He pointed out that it is nothing more than “a distraction from addressing the obstacles faced by relief agencies on the ground.”

Among the organizations that also signed the statement: the Norwegian Refugee Council, CARE International, Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, Save the Children, Plan International, Islamic Relief, and ActionAid International.

Organizations and agencies expressed their fear of accelerating deaths resulting from hunger, disease and denial of medical assistance, while land and sea entry points remain effectively closed to meaningful humanitarian aid, most of which is in dire need of fuel.

She said that “systematic” obstructions at Israeli-controlled crossing points, intensifying hostilities, and prolonged communications outages had reduced the volume of aid entering Gaza, including food, fuel and medical supplies, “to some of the lowest levels seen in seven months.” past”.

She added that Doctors Without Borders, for example, has not been able to deliver any supplies to the Strip since May 6. She added that the lack of clean water supplies exposes patients to the risk of contracting diseases.
