Palestinian medical sources said that about 20 citizens were martyred and others were injured in Israeli raids and shelling on various areas of Gaza since dawn on Wednesday, most of them in Rafah, south of the besieged Strip.
This coincides with the continuation of the resistance factions, led by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in their operations against the occupation in the areas of the incursion, as the occupation army admitted that 12 soldiers were injured in the battles during the past 24 hours.
The occupation army said that the number of its dead since the beginning of the war has now reached 662 officers and soldiers, while the number of wounded has reached 3,860 soldiers, including 582 seriously injured, while 239 soldiers are still undergoing treatment.
Resistance operations
The Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they bombed the occupation forces penetrating southeast of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City with heavy-caliber mortar shells.
The Brigades also announced the bombing of the Tal al-Sultan Battalion site northwest of Rafah with heavy-caliber mortar shells, and the bombing of Israeli forces stationed in the Netzarim axis with short-range rockets.
It also confirmed the launch of a “suicide” Zuari plane towards the occupation forces in the Haulit settlement in the Gaza Strip.
For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, said that it bombed “enemy” gatherings with mortar shells in the vicinity of Saad Mosque, east of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
Al-Saraya also broadcast scenes that it said were of Israeli forces bombing the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
Martyrs and wounded
On the other hand, Palestinian medical sources reported that about 20 citizens were martyred and others were injured in Israeli raids and shelling on various areas since the dawn hours.
The sources said that 12 Palestinians were martyred in continuous raids on various areas in Rafah.
Al-Jazeera’s correspondent reported that two Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the vicinity of Al-Alam Roundabout, west of the city.
Ambulance crews also recovered the bodies of two other martyrs from the same area.
The occupation forces had targeted the Saudi neighborhood and the Tal al-Sultan area with continuous raids, resulting in the death and injury of a number of people.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent also reported that 7 Palestinians were martyred and others wounded as a result of an Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the tents of displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah.
He added that many families were displaced from that area as a result of the Israeli bombing.
In the Nuseirat camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip, an Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent reported that one person was killed and others were injured as a result of the occupation targeting the homes of citizens in the new camp.
There was an active movement of occupation vehicles north of Nuseirat, coinciding with violent artillery shelling. The occupation warboats also fired intensely towards the beaches of Nuseirat and Al-Zahraa, northwest of the Central Governorate.
Big challenge
On the other hand, the Israeli “Wala” website quoted the commander of the Givati Brigade, Colonel Liron Patito, as saying that the army faces a “major challenge” to defeat Hamas fighters in Rafah.
He added that the army paid a heavy price for this mission, stressing that the fighting will not stop until a real solution is reached for the people of Israel, according to him.
The Israeli website quoted a security source as saying that the army is carrying out large-scale engineering activities along the Philadelphia border axis with Egypt.
He explained that the goal is to determine the locations of the tunnels, noting that if the Givati Brigade completes this mission, this means “blowing up Hamas’ oxygen pipeline.”
It is noteworthy that since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 120,000 victims, including martyrs, injured and missing persons, famine and an unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis, according to international and international reports.
