10 Palestinians, including a baby, were martyred in the Gaza Strip due to famine during the past 24 hours, while the United Nations Rapporteur for Food called the international community to punish Israel.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that “the total number of those who was fulfilled due to famine and malnutrition has risen to 122, including 83 children.”
In the early hours of the dawn of today, Saturday, sources in the Nasser Medical Complex reported the martyrdom of a Palestinian baby called Zainab Ahmed Abu Halib, due to malnutrition.
The sources pointed out that the 6 -month -old baby was martyred as a result of the lack of food and medicine caused by the siege imposed by the occupation forces on the Gaza Strip.
This, and the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, warned Dr. Munir Al -Barash, that deaths due to hunger are exacerbated, especially among children.
Al -Barash revealed – in an interview with Al -Jazeera – the recording of more than 3 thousand cases of abortion and death inside the womb in Gaza during the past months due to famine and malnutrition.
Al -Barash added that the world cannot insert a single milk box to save Palestinian children who turn into skeletons in front of the eyes of doctors who are unable to provide assistance.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has warned of an imminent running out of treatment for the lives of children with severe malnutrition in Gaza.
According to UNICEF officials, the current supplies are sufficient to treat only 3,000 children, and are expected to be running out within 3 weeks unless new supplies will reach, which will have serious repercussions, especially for children who are already threatened with their lives due to acute malnutrition.
UN officials have also warned that preventing the arrival of high -calorie supplements caused the suspension of programs aimed at preventing the groups most vulnerable to malnutrition, such as pregnant women and children under the age of five.
Punish Israel
In a related context, the UN Special Rapporteur on Food, Michael Fakhry, stressed – in an interview with Al -Jazeera – that what is required is to impose sanctions on Israel, noting that the phrases of denunciation issued by some countries are no longer sufficient.
The UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food added to the island that Israel has announced several times its intention to starve the Palestinians in Gaza.
In turn, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross called Miriana Spllaric to put an end to the tragedy in Gaza immediately and decisively.
Spllaric said that what is happening in Gaza, the size of suffering and the level of abstraction from dignity has exceeded all legal and ethical standards.
She added that every minute passes without reaching a ceasefire means the loss of more civilian lives, and that hostile actions reap the lives of people without mercy, and death is waiting for them while they are seeking to obtain food.
The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross stressed that children die because of the scarcity of food, and that families are forced to flee again, in search of missing safety.
Aid
For its part, the British newspaper “I News” revealed – quoting diplomatic sources – that Britain is working with its international allies to start dropping aid from the air on Gaza.
The newspaper said that the British Air Force is likely to lead British efforts to drop humanitarian aid on Gaza.
Earlier, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation reported that the occupation army destroyed tens of thousands of relief materials that include large quantities of food that were dedicated to the residents of Gaza, amid an unprecedented state of famine in the besieged sector.
The Israeli Authority quoted military sources as saying that wrapped aid includes a thousand trucks of food and medical.
These sources added that “there are thousands of parcels under the sun, and if they are not transferred to Gaza, we will have to destroy it.”
She considered that the destruction of humanitarian materials is caused by a defect in the mechanism of distributing aid in Gaza, according to her claim.
The destruction of the Israeli army comes from thousands of aid allocated to Gaza, while the Strip is starving, and the famine is destroyed by its inhabitants, which counted about 2.3 million.
It also comes amid global demonstrations and calls from political leaders and international organizations to pressure Israel to allow aid to enter the sector and stop its war on Gaza, which has been going on for nearly two years.
Since the seventh of October 2023, Israel has launched an American war of genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 203,000 Palestinians among a martyr and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and the famine that has been exhausted by the lives of many.
